End-of-Line Wrapping, Banding & Strapping Solutions
End-of-Line Load Securing & Packaging Solutions
The end of the production line is where product quality is ultimately protected.
However well goods are manufactured, they can still be damaged if they are not properly secured before leaving the factory — and that’s where effective end-of-line equipment makes a real difference.
When correctly specified and integrated, End-of-line load securing equipment ensures products remain stable, protected and ready for distribution.
Systems such as stretch wrappers, banders and strappers perform different but complementary roles. Together they help manufacturers protect product quality, improve handling safety and maintain reliable dispatch operations.
The Different Types of Load Securing Equipment
Stretch wrappers apply stretch film around a pallet to hold products together as a single stable unit. They provide overall load stability and protection from dust and moisture, and are typically used on palletised goods ready for storage or shipment.
(A detailed guide to stretch wrapping systems is provided on the dedicated stretch wrapper page.)
Banders apply a wide paper or film band around individual items or small bundles. They are commonly used where products need to be grouped neatly without compressing or damaging packaging. Banding is often chosen for presentation, lightweight products and retail-ready packs.
Strappers apply a narrow, high-tension strap around cartons, bundles or pallets. They are used where stronger containment is required, particularly for heavier loads or transport packaging where movement must be prevented.
Working Together
In many facilities these technologies are used in combination:
-
Banding to collate individual packs
-
Strapping to secure cartons or pallet loads
-
Stretch wrapping to stabilise and protect the complete pallet
Using the correct combination improves load stability, reduces damage claims and makes handling safer for warehouse and transport operations.
Supporting Efficient Production
Well-planned end-of-line systems do more than protect products. They also:
-
reduce manual handling
-
improve dispatch efficiency
-
support workplace safety
-
provide consistent packaging standards
-
help maintain customer satisfaction
Selecting the right solution depends on the product type, weight, packaging style and transport requirements. The following pages explain each system in more detail and help you determine the most suitable option for your operation.
